PCR tests not available to book at any sites across Nottinghamshire this morning

There are no PCR tests available at sites across Nottinghamshire and the rest of the country, according to the Government's website.

Home tests for the general public are also currently not available, according to the website, as of 9am on Wednesday, December 29.

There are no slots available in the East Midlands at all - with none available in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Northamptonshire and Leicestershire.

It comes as infection rates and cases continue to rise across the UK, as the Omicron variant spreads during the festive period.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has confirmed there will be no new restrictions before the new year.

In a thread of tweets, Mr Johnson wrote: "We will continue to monitor the data carefully, but there will be no new restrictions introduced in England before the New Year.

"However, I would urge everyone to continue to act cautiously given the rising number of Omicron cases.

"Most importantly I urge everyone to get their first, second or booster jab without delay to protect yourselves and your loved ones."
