PC Mikael Lustig returns as Celtic defender turns up in Home Bargains store

PC Mikael Lustig is back, thanks to a Celtic fan who couldn't resist an opportunity to have the defender back on the beat.

The Swede famously donned a copper's hat as the Hoops celebrated a 5-0 thrashing over Rangers which clinched their seventh title in a row, last April.

The iconic celebration was later incorporated into Celtic's most recent Christmas video, as Lustig appeared in full police uniform at the door of Hoops fans, after "one of the neighbours had made a complaint about the noise", a grumpy Scott Brown in tow.

And with the Parkhead faithful lapping up the Swede's impromptu party piece during the one-sided derby, fans even penned a chant to celebrate Lustig's new headwear.

Celtic should bin Neil Lennon because he’s not big enough to handle Steven Gerrard says MOTD pundit

More than a year on, the moment clearly still registers. A Celtic supporter, known on Twitter as NOTLR, took the chance to have the Swede working a shift in a local Home Bargains store. An image of a policeman, as seen in many shops, plastered on the front window, very cheekily ended up with a different face - Lustig's - after a quick bit of art and craft.

However, the right back didn't last long in the role, as shop staff quickly noticed something was awry, and stood PC Lustig down for duty.

Celtic fans do mass huddle in the middle of Glasgow city centre to celebrate 8 in a row

Yesterday, the Swedish international celebrated the Hoops' eigth Scottish Premiership title in a row, with the defender playing a key part in Celtic's vital 3-0 victory over Aberdeen.

Lustig stooped low to head home the opening goal at Pittodrie, as Neil Lennon's men went on to clinch another title.
