PC Moore, whose collar number is 8250, is scheduled to face a two day hearing at the force’s new headquarters off St Anne Street.
A notice on the Merseyside Police website, which did not disclose the constable’s forename, said: “Constable 8250 Moore will appear before a misconduct hearing panel for allegedly breaching the standards of professional behaviour, namely equality and diversity and discreditable conduct.
“The officer will face allegations that he used derogatory and offensive language whilst a colleague was using a social media voice note.”
If he is found to have breached professional standards then a host of actions are available to the panel. Staff found to have committed gross misconduct, for instance, can be dismissed without notice.
