Payoneer India Cross-Border Excellence Awards 2026: From fashion to wellness, spotlighting India's e-commerce export champions

India's cross-border commerce story is no longer limited to large exporters or multinational corporations. Today, digitally native brands, homegrown manufacturers, and e-commerce entrepreneurs are taking Indian products to consumers across the globe, transforming the country into a powerhouse of global trade. As this momentum accelerates, a new platform aims to celebrate the businesses making it happen: the Payoneer India Cross-Border Excellence Awards 2026 , launched in association with The Economic Times.

The awards arrive at a pivotal moment. India's services exports reached a record $387.6 billion in FY2025, while the government has outlined an ambitious target of $2 trillion in total exports by 2030-31. At the same time, India's e-commerce exports are projected to grow to $200-300 billion by 2030, reflecting the increasing global appetite for Indian products and services.

Spotlight on India's e-commerce export champions

Among the sixteen award categories, three are dedicated specifically to e-commerce exporters recognising the distinct journeys and opportunities within each segment.

  • Fashion & apparel: Indian style goes global

From handcrafted textiles and ethnic wear to sustainable fashion labels, Indian apparel brands are increasingly finding audiences far beyond domestic markets. These businesses are blending craftsmanship with modern design, using digital storefronts and marketplaces to reach consumers worldwide. The category recognises brands turning India's rich design heritage into globally admired fashion exports.

  • Home & Kitchen: Crafting homes across borders

Indian artisans and manufacturers have long been celebrated for their craftsmanship. Today, e-commerce is enabling home décor, kitchenware, furnishings, and lifestyle products to reach homes around the world. This category honours businesses that are combining tradition with innovation to create products that resonate with global consumers.

  • Personal Care, Health & Wellness: Wellness without borders

The global wellness economy is expanding rapidly, and Indian brands are carving out a unique space within it. From Ayurvedic formulations and natural skincare to health supplements and personal care products, businesses in this segment are building trusted brands that are gaining recognition internationally. This category celebrates the entrepreneurs exporting wellness and elevating India's presence on global shelves.

A broader vision for cross-border excellence

The awards are designed to reflect the diversity of India's cross-border ecosystem. In addition to e-commerce, categories span service exports such as IT & Development, AI/ML, SaaS, Digital Marketing Services, Managed Services, and EdTech. Independent categories recognise achievements in D2C exports, women-led enterprises, global employment, and company incorporation services, while regional awards spotlight businesses driving export growth across North, South, East, and West India.

Recognition Based on Merit

What sets the Payoneer India Cross-Border Excellence Awards apart is its evaluation framework. Every shortlisted nominee will be assessed by an independent jury against clearly defined criteria, with emphasis on:

Growth and scale – 40%

Market reach and geographic diversification – 30%

Innovation and differentiation – 15%

Employment and community impact – 10%

Digital infrastructure and payments readiness – 5%

This transparent, sector-specific approach ensures that businesses are recognised for tangible impact and long-term global competitiveness rather than reputation alone.

More than an award

The initiative culminates in an exclusive gala in New Delhi in September 2026, bringing together entrepreneurs, exporters, industry leaders, and policymakers. Beyond the awards ceremony, participants will gain access to discussions on trade reforms, digital infrastructure, free trade agreements, and the evolving landscape of global commerce.

As global supply chains continue to evolve and India's export ambitions grow stronger, the businesses building international customer bases from India are shaping the country's next chapter of economic growth. The Payoneer India Cross-Border Excellence Awards 2026 aim to ensure that these stories of ambition, innovation, and global success receive the recognition they deserve.

Nominations for the Payoneer India Cross-Border Excellence Awards 2026 are now open, inviting businesses across sectors to showcase their journey and join India's expanding cross-border success story.
