There are just a few more hours to vote for the best entry in this year’s Academics with Cats competition, a hotly contested accolade first awarded last year by the off-beat blog Academia Obscura.
It turns out that tweeting pictures of cats is just as much of a trend in academia as it is for the rest of the population, providing distraction from the long hours of marking essays and prepping conference papers. Take a look at the hashtag #academicswithcats for the latest offerings.
You can vote for best photo in the following CATegories: academics and their cats; research; writing; teaching and outreach; and research assistants.
The winning moggies will receive a professorship certificate, a mortarboard and a collar tag, and will be made Mice Chancellors of Academia Obscura (@MiceChancellor). They’ll also be entered into the Academic Cats Hall of Fame. Their owners will receive a signed copy of forthcoming Academia Obscura book.
