Pawprint exceeds £700,000 crowdfund target with two weeks to run

Eco tech business Pawprint has announced it has exceeded its recently launched £700,000 crowdfunder with two weeks left.

It also received B Corporation certification recognising its commitment to sustainability, ethics and accountability.

The company, which helps businesses and consumers reduce their carbon footprint, reached its goal with two weeks left to run - enabling it to continue to ramp up its employee engagement offering and accelerate climate action at scale.

Pawprint has secured more than £700,000 investment from more than 230 investors in the past two weeks. Since launch Pawprint has attracted more than 2000 investors.

The B Corp certification addresses the entirety of a business’ operations and covers five key impact areas of governance, workers, community, environment and customers.

Applicants are required to reach a benchmark score of more than 80 while providing evidence of socially and environmentally responsible practices relating to energy supplies, waste and water use, worker compensation, diversity and corporate transparency.

To complete the certification, the company will legally embed their commitment to purpose beyond profit in their company articles.

Edinburgh-based Pawprint focuses on reducing carbon emissions through its unique employee engagement platform - Pawprint for Business.

It enables businesses to engage, support and unite employees in reducing their carbon footprints at home, work and beyond.

Currently used by 31 UK businesses and organisations including Brewdog, Tesco Bank, abrdn and Royal London.

Chris Turner, executive director at B Lab UK says “We are delighted to welcome Pawprint to the B Corp community. This is a movement of companies who are committed to changing how business operates and believe business really can be a force for good.“

“Being able to welcome Pawprint to the B Corp community is hugely exciting. Their commitment to doing business differently will be an inspiration to others and really help spread the idea that we can redefine success in business to be as much about people and planet as it is about profit”.

Christian Arno, founder and chief executive at Pawprint says “It was incredibly emotional for me to find out we’d achieved B Corps status, because the way B Corps are run cuts to the very core of what I believe in and the basis on which Pawprint was founded.”
