rayong: Pawin Ingkhapradit shot a three-under-par 68 to maintain lead at the rain-hit Singha Championship at the Rayong Green Valley Country Club yesterday.
Overnight leader Pawin moved to nine-under-par 133 after 36 holes while some of the players were unable to finish their second round as rain stopped play for two hours in the morning.
Starting from the 10th tee, Pawin picked up four birdies on holes 10, 17, 2 and 4 and conceded his only bogey on 3.
"I met my target today of getting two or three under," said the 27-year-old from Suphanburi.
"I had a great start with a birdie on my first hole and had another one before the turn. That made my task much easier on the back nine.
"The wind picked up on the back nine but fortunately I was able to get two more birdies," he added. "Hopefully I will be able to keep the score low over the next two days."
Chapchai Nirat (68), the 2014 champion, and Nitithorn Thippong (66) shared second place on six-under 136. Defending champion Chanachok Dejpiratanamongkol was at joint 24th on even par 142.
Players will tee off at 7am this morning. The third round will begin at 9am.
