Pawel Dawidowicz in Celtic transfer link as Polish defender 'in the crosshairs' for summer move

Polish centre-back Pawel Dawidowicz is on Celtic's radar for a summer switch according to reports in Italy.

A defensive recruitment drive is on the horizon at Parkhead this summer with Kristoffer Ajer likely to attract interest and Shane Duffy likely to leave Glasgow and bring the curtain down on an ill-fated loan from Brighton.

Christopher Jullien will be expected to be back from injury, however, but after a poor record at the back this term Nick Hammond will likely be looking to add new faces.

Italian outlet Tuttohellasverona report that Verona defender Dawidowicz is on their wishlist with the Seria A club approached over a move.

The towering 6ft 2in centre-half came through the youth ranks at Benfica before making a loan spell at Verona permanent in 2019.

It is claimed that Celtic were pursuing Dawidowicz's signature last summer but were snubbed by Ivan Juric's side.

However, he has now "ended up in the crosshairs" of the Hoops again but reportedly he "has never hidden the desire to stay at Verona."

Dawidowicz has made one appearance for his country back in 2015.
