PAW PATROL has NOT been cancelled - despite White House claim

Paw Patrol's creators have confirmed the TV show is not being taken off the air after Donald Trump's press secretary bizarrely claimed the series has been 'cancelled'.

The US President's press secretary Kayleigh McEnany claimed the Canadian kids' cartoon about crime-fighting and rescue dogs has been cancelled, during a White House briefing on Friday night.

"We saw a few weeks ago that 'PAW Patrol,' a cartoon show about cops, was cancelled," Ms McEnany said, while discussing President Trump's criticisms of 'cancel culture', a term used to describe the withdrawal of support for figures or institutions after they have acted offensively or behaved badly.

She added: "It's really unfortunate, because I stand with, and the president stands with, the 63% of Americans who think police officers are one of the most important jobs in this country."

But Paw Patrol has not been cancelled and will continue to be made for TV, the show's official Twitter account confirmed.

"No need to worry. PAW Patrol is not cancelled," tweeted @pawpatrol.

Nickelodeon's vice president, David Bittler, has also confirmed Paw Patrol is staying on air, USA Today reports.

Paw Patrol is shown on both Channel 5 and Sky. Tts live shows have toured around the UK, including performances at Newcastle Utilita Arena.

Paw Patrol: The Movie is due to be released in August 2021.
