Paw blimey! Catfest London is returning for a second year

Rewind back to 2018 and you might remember we broke the news that a festival dedicated to cats was popping up in London. Now it's coming back for round two, and this time it's taking place in a Palladian-style mansion in Beckenham.

Catfest 2019 is a chance for London's feline-obsessed to spend all day and night playing, spoiling and taking pictures with the lovable beasts.

Taking place on Saturday June 29 at Beckenham Place Park, this year's edition heads to leafy South London for booze and tunes in the name of all things moggie.

The festival boasts everything from live music to themed cocktails, vegan street food, kitty cakes, face painting, arts and crafts workshops and feature films starring – you guessed it – cats.

There's also the chance to meet some of Instagram's biggest cat influencers. Attendees are yet to be confirmed, but we're really hoping for an appearance from Grumpy Cat (because goals).

There will even be a so-called "cat-lit" section where you and your furry friends can hear readings from Homer's Odyssey – though this Odyssey doesn't involve a Trojan horse or Greek warriors, being a cat-friendly version about an abandoned blind kitten. Cute.

Proceeds from the event will also go to Erham Rescue and Freshfields Animal Rescue in Wales to help cats and kittens in need.

If you go, share your pics with us @esgolondon and we'll retweet the best ones.

Saturday June 29, Beckenham Place Park, Beckenham Hill Road, BR3 1UH, book tickets here.
