Paving slab chucked through window while family slept upstairs

A Wirral family had a paving slab thrown through the windows of their house while they slept on Wednesday morning.

The shocking incident occurred at a house in the Hawthornes area of Rock Ferry, Wirral, at around 3am and resulted in damage to two windows of a family home.

The ECHO understands the family were upstairs sleeping at the time of the attack when a paving slab was used to smash the windows of their home in the Birkenhead cul-de-sac.

It is understood nobody was injured in the attack.

Merseyside Police have confirmed they have received reports of the incident and have asked for anyone with information to come forward.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We received a call at 3am today, Wednesday 5 May, following reports damage had been caused to two windows of a property in The Hawthornes in Birkenhead.

"No-one was injured during the incident.

"Anyone with information is asked to DM @MerPolCC or @CrimestoppersUK on 0800 555 111 quoting reference 21000286237."
