A former Princeton student facing jail for the rapes of two women in London was expelled from the Ivy League school for a sex attack on a classmate, it has emerged.

Paulo Kretteis, 22, was wearing a “Princeton” top when he attacked a woman on a secluded footbridge in Acton, west London, in October 2019.

An image of Kretteis from CCTV was circulated by police but he was not caught before striking again, raping a second woman at her west London home in December 2019.

Before coming to the UK the student had been expelled from Princeton in spring 2019 after a disciplinary finding that he had raped a female classmate.

However it is understood he did not face a criminal prosecution in the US.

Kretteis was convicted of two counts of rape and making a threat to kill following a trial at Isleworth Crown Court in January. He is due to be sentenced on March 26.
