Paulo Dybala transfer to Tottenham assessed as fixture chaos looms for new season

Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest for Friday, August 14.

Dybala’s chances of Tottenham transfer

Paulo Dybala is once again the hot topic among Tottenham fans, despite having been the subject of a failed transfer 12 months ago.

A deal worth €70million looked to be in the offing as Spurs appeared set to end the transfer window on a massive high, but unfortunately the move collapsed.

His subsequent fine form in helping Juventus to secure yet another Serie A title might have had fans thinking there was little to no chance of the deal being revisited.

But reports in Italy following Andrea Pirlo’s appointment as Juventus boss have given Spurs supporters a reason to believe it might not be a closed case.

Fixture chaos looms for Spurs

Clubs are finding out more and more about how next season is going to look as the start of the 2020/21 campaign nears.

It’s not long since the previous season was concluded, but there’s now less than a month until the new Premier League campaign gets underway on August 12.

For Spurs, it could prove to be a long season, with Jose Mourinho’s side the only English team who need to go through the qualification process in Europe.

And following the EFL’s announcement on next season’s Carabao Cup, the Portuguese’s side are facing up to a scheduling nightmare.

Hojbjerg’s future Tottenham role

It’s a transfer that seemed to be in the offing for a long, long time, but Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is finally a Spurs player after completing his move earlier this week.

Fans won’t have too long to wait before they get to see him in action in the Premier League for his new side.

The Dane is seen as the answer to Mourinho’s issues in midfield, but what exactly can Spurs fans expect from him?

Hampshire Live's Joe Doyle gave us the lowdown on the midfielder's spell at St Mary's and what the future could hold for Hojbjerg in the capital.
