Paulo Dybala's future really is up in the air as we approach the 5pm transfer deadline.
Looking on course to complete a £64.4m move to Tottenham from Juventus before the transfer window slams shut until January, it was always going to be tough and go in the remaining hours due to his wage demands, agent's fees and image rights.
However, it was reported prior to midday that the move had been called off with the Italian side pulling the plug on the deal.
Then Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport stated that the move was very much still on, before Sky in Italy poured cold water on that by claiming that the Bianconeri will not sell the Argentine without having a replacement lined up.
There are always plenty of twists and turns on deadline day and there could yet be a few more before the time 5pm comes around.

Although Premier League clubs do have to complete any remaining business by today, it's slightly different in Italy and other European leagues.
French, German and Spanish clubs have until Monday, September 2 to complete deals, with Serie A clubs having less time as their deadline is before the new season on Friday, August 23.
While Juventus are believed to have put an end to Dybala moving to Spurs as they don't have a replacement lined up, they still have plenty of time to complete a deal for a new striker as their transfer window doesn't close in a matter of hours like it does in England.
Everyone connected with Spurs will be hoping for a change of events in the coming hours as they look to make a statement signing before the 5pm deadline.
