Paulo Dybala's agent hits back at Manchester United transfer claims

Paulo Dybala's agent has claimed issues between Juventus and Manchester United caused the summer transfer to collapse, not the forward's wage demands.

The Argentina international was targeted by the Reds after his future in Turin became uncertain, with the Serie A champions willing to listen to offers for the former Palermo man.

Dybala was seen as the perfect player to boost United's firepower in the final third, but an agreement couldn't be made between the two sides.

Tottenham also registered an interest in the 25-year-old on deadline day, but just like United, their deal collapsed.

The MEN understood that United pulled out of the deal over Dybala's extraordinary wage demands and his agent - Jorge Antun - demanding an enormous fee for facilitating the move.

Now, Antun has explained his side of the story.

Asked whether negotiations were skipped with Manchester United, he told Tuttosport : "I did speak to the British, but the stories about the commission were not true. There were simply issues between the two clubs."

Dybala was benched for Maurizio Sarri's first game in charge of the Old Lady against Parma with Gonzalo Higuain chosen to lead the line, leading to more speculation over his future.

Paris Saint-Germain are believed to hold an interest in his services, but Antun suggested the rumours were wide of the mark.

He added: "There are no imminent trips to Paris planned."
