Paulo Dybala issues update on his health after positive coronavirus test

Juventus forward Paulo Dybala has announced that he and his girlfriend Oriana Sabatini are doing well following the news they had tested positive for coronavirus.

Supporters of the club were worried after the Argentinean broke the news four days ago that he was the latest high-profile footballer to have been affected by COVID-19.

But the 26-year-old took to social media on Wednesday evening to post a picture of himself doing an 'OK' sign along with the caption "estamos bien" (we are good).

On Sunday Dybala shared a photo of himself and Oriana saying: "Hi everyone, I just wanted to inform you that we have received the results for the Covid-19 test and both Oriana and I have tested positive. Luckily we are in perfect conditions. Thank for your messages."

Juventus have had three players in total contract coronavirus, with defender Daniele Rugani and midfielder Blaise Matuidi also testing positive along with Dybala.

The likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gonzalo Higuain, Miralem Pjanic, Sami Khedira and Douglas Costa have gone back to their respective countries amid the coronavirus outbreak, but their actions have been criticised by former Juve president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli, who worries about how they will get fit for when Serie A eventually resumes.

Speaking to Italian station Radio Punto Nuovo, he said: "The thing at Juventus got complicated when Cristiano Ronaldo left. Ronaldo said he went to Portugal because of his mother, but now he only appears to take pictures in the pool.

"When this exception was made, the situation fell apart and others wanted to go. It shouldn't have been like that. They should have all been quarantined.

"Criticizing now is easy, but, seen from the outside, I don't understand why some players wanted to leave Italy.

"When they return it will be more difficult to get back into shape, because they will have to be quarantined for 14 days."
