Paulo Dybala 'evaluating' Premier League proposals as Arsenal wait on transfer decision

Arsenal reportedly enquired about a move for Paulo Dybala after the Argentinian forward became a free agent this summer.

Dybala's representatives have held talks with Inter Milan in the past weeks after the Argentina international left Juventus upon expiry of his contract. Inter have since stalled in their efforts to sign the 28-year-old following Romelu Lukaku's return to the Serie A side, leaving Chelsea on a season-long loan deal.

The Gunners confirmed the £45million signing of Gabriel Jesus earlier this week and reportedly enquired about Dybala last week, along with Manchester United. The former Juve forward is now evaluating proposals from Premier League interested parties in an effort to resolve his future ahead of the 2022/23 season, according to reports in Italy.

According to Sky Italia, via Sport Witness, Inter have put Dybala’s signing on ‘stand-by’. Therefore, the 28-year-old is now ‘evaluating’ foreign proposals, including Manchester United and Arsenal after both clubs enquired about his services last week.

United are currently facing a tricky situation after Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo requested to leave the club, with Chelsea one of the clubs 'interested' in bringing the 37-year-old to Stamford Bridge. Erik ten Hag wants Ronaldo to stay at Old Trafford with the club adamant the striker is not for sale.

Arsenal recently strengthened their attack with Jesus' arrival, whilst Eddie Nketiah signed a new long-term deal last month. Mikel Arteta and Edu are continuing to work on more deals that would see the Gunners strengthen further, and Dybala could be part of the club's plans if Inter continue to stall on the Argentina international.

Dybala scored 15 goals and registered six assists in 39 appearances last season in all competitions. The Argentinian forward can play at centre-forward, as a number 10 or on the wing, offering plenty of versatility which is something Arteta values looking at previous signings and future targets.

Jesus is able to play anywhere in attack, whilst transfer target Lisandro Martinez is also a versatile option in defence. The Gunners could face another battle with United for Dybala's signature, whilst the two clubs fight to complete a deal for Martinez from Eredivisie champions Ajax, with neither side able to meet the Dutch side's demands so far.
