Another day, another bizarre stunt delivered by Pauline Hanson, this time courtesy of a head-scratching claim she made about her grandson and the details of her daughter’s genitals.
Yep, the leader of One Nation made the shock admission during a Senate address on Thursday, accusing Australian schools of “feeding innocent kids lies” about gender — resulting in a speech that regrettably saw her repeat the word “penis” far too many times.
“Children as young as four are being told they can choose whether they’re a boy or a girl, that biology doesn’t matter, that parents are wrong, and feelings are truth,” Hanson said.

She then recalled a story of her grandson (who maybe could’ve done without being mentioned in the Senate) coming home from school and asking his mother “where’s your penis?”, only to be reminded, per Hanson’s recollection, that his mother “is female and females do not have a penis”.
What is it with red heads and their obsession with people’s junk?
Anyway, Hanson went on to claim that her grandson, the inquisitive fella he is, was told at school “that you can choose if you want to be a boy or a girl”.
You know, typical recess chatter.
“He wanted to know when he gets to choose. All his life up to the age of seven years, he’s been told he’s a boy,” Hanson said.
Hanson, with the faint whiff of Donald Trump’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion diatribe, then cited the story as a supposed example of “ideological indoctrination [being] smuggled into schools under inclusion programs and hidden from parents”.
While she didn’t name the specific programs teaching what she called this “perverse rubbish”, states across the country include in their curriculums a variety of sex-ed courses aimed at exploring the cultural and social forces behind gender, as well as broader learnings about identity, diversity and puberty.
Hanson, seemingly taken by an active imagination, said such programs are responsible for “turning our kids into fodder for gender clinics where they are drugged and butchered”, to which I offer a simple: huh?
The politician went on to lash out at the Liberals for their inaction, saying the party is “too weak” and “too gutless to act” on the supposed issue.

It’s unclear what Hanson sought to gain from the speech beyond claiming One Nation is “the only party fighting to protect your kids from this madness”, but as the child of a primary school teacher, I can anecdotally reveal they are less concerned about some covert operation to transition students than they are about trading playground duties with staff.
And as a former primary school student myself, my only memorable inquisition from that time was when I’d finally be granted my pen licence.
That I never actually got it is the only “madness” I can think of.
