Paul Weller rules out adding to his 8 children as he opens up on being a new dad at 60

Dad-of-eight Paul Weller has ruled out becoming a mod father again now he is 60.

The Changing Man singer’s youngest daughter Nova is 14 months old while his eldest Leah is 26 and has just married.

Paul said: “I think eight’s a good number. It’s my lucky number. But the difference between being 30 and being a dad and being 60 and being a dad is a different mindset.

“You have more patience, and you know, kind of, what to expect.

“I consider myself extremely, lucky, really, to be able to experience it and how wonderful it is, really. And changing nappies? Yeah, no problem. I’ve had enough f***ing experience.”

Paul, who celebrated his 60th in May, has the same number of offspring as Sir Rod Stewart, 73, and Sir Mick Jagger, 75.

His second wife Hannah, 32, gave birth to Nova in July 2017. Leah, whose mum is his first wife and Style Council singer Dee C Lee, married Calvin Klein model Tomo Kurata, 28, last weekend.

Paul’s other children are Natt, 29, also with Dee C, Dylan, 21, from a relationship with a make-up artist, Jesamine, 17, and Stevie Mac, 12, with ex Samantha Stock, and twins Bowie and John Paul, six, with former backing singer Hannah, whom he married in 2010.

Paul, whose new album True Meanings is out now, also said he is not fazed by getting older.

“It’s interesting,” he said.
