★, the name of David Bowie’s new album out today, is a bit of a mouthful so the best thing to do is get one of these T-shirts, wear it to HMV and point to the logo when you’re at the till. Created by British designer, Paul Smith, in collaboration with Bowie and designed by Jonathan Barnbrook (an artist and graphic designer, formerly of social activist magazine, Adbusters, and who designed the artwork for Heather and Reality), it’s part love letter to Bowie – Smith is an old friend of the performer – and part high-end band merch. Bowie usually appears on his album cover so it’s also a bit novel. Either way, we approve.
