Paul Sinha calls Scot on The Chase ‘biggest idiot ever’ before smashing first round

The Chase star Paul Sinha has branded a Scots contestant the “biggest idiot” he’s ever seen in the latest episode of the popular game show.

Tonight's episode featured four new contestants - Peter, Gordon, Helen and Chloe - joining the ITV show in the hopes of winning the grand prize before facing the chaser.

The first contestant up was ancient history student Gordon, 32, from Edinburgh who was asked by host Bradley Walsh which chaser he hoped to see walk out.

Gordon revealed he hoped to see The Sinnerman as his chosen chaser, saying: "Probably Paul. I think he seems like a cool guy, really gracious guy, he might go easy on me."

Fortunately for Gordon he was right, and Paul revealed himself as the chosen chaser of the night.

After coming out, the chaser said: “‘Thank you for calling me gracious...you’re the biggest idiot I've ever seen in my life."

Gordon went on to do incredibly well on his questions and bagged a total of £7,000 for the group, before he then beat the chaser to return back to his team.

Following on the successful streak, the second contestant Peter also bagged a large total for the team and made it back for the final round.

While Chloe was caught, Helen too managed to make it back, and the team were left with a total of £23,000 to win.

Unfortunately, the group were caught by the chaser in the final round and left empty handed.

The Chase continues week nights on STV.
