Scholes rant at 'disastrous' United
Paul Scholes has insisted that he didn’t intend to be a ‘party pooper’ after criticising Manchester United following their dramatic 3-2 win over Atalanta.
However, when the United legend expressed his post-match views on BT Sport, his words suggested otherwise.
Scholes refused to join in with the jubilation after watching Cristiano Ronaldo steal the headlines with a trademark winner, after United had trailed the Italian side 2-0 at half time.
"I get the United excitement, but that first half put me off the second half and if United were playing a better team, they'd be out of sight.

United fined by UEFA
Manchester United have been fined by UEFA after they were found guilty of two charges regarding the Champions League clash with Villarreal at Old Trafford.
United beat the La Liga side 2-1 last month with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring a stoppage-time winner in front of the Stretford End.
Ronaldo celebrated in the corner, with a pitch invader also joining in the celebrations, and United were charged for that offence, as well as the throwing of objects.
A UEFA statement confirming the decision read: "To fine Manchester United €3,375 for throwing of objects. To fine Manchester United €5,000 for the invasion of the field of play. The above fines in the total amount of €8,375 must be paid within 90 days of communication of this decision."

Solving the United midfield conundrum has become one of the more unenviable tasks in football, and given the fact that Solskjaer keeps tinkering with his selections between matches it’s become clear that not even he knows the answer.
Paul Scholes dominated the headlines with his post-match rant about United's display against Atalanta but the former midfielder was right when he expressed sympathy for Fred and McTominay at half-time, with the Reds trailing 2-0, having been carved open at will. "I almost felt sorry for those two," said the Old Trafford legend.
And it was only when the 4-2-4 disappeared, with a tweak made to Bruno Fernandes' position that United began to control the midfield area.
