Paul Scholes on Man Utd dressing room reaction to Dean Henderson error against AC Milan

Paul Scholes has opened up over how the Manchester United dressing room would have reacted to Dean Henderson's error on Thursday night.

The Englishman was at fault for failing to keep out Simon Kjaer's last gasp header in the Europa League.

The Red Devils looked set to take a 1-0 lead into the second leg after Amad scored his first goal for the club just five minutes after coming off the bench.

Bruno Fernandes lofted a perfectly-weighted ball over Chelsea loanee Fikayo Tomori which saw the Ivorian teenager net with a clever header past Gianluigi Donnarumma.

AC Milan had two goals ruled out in the first half but their efforts were rewarded with a late corner.

Danish defender Kjaer got his head onto the ball but Henderson will not want to watch the incident back as his efforts to keep it out were shambolic.

In the BT Sport studio, Scholes was less than impressed with his former side but also gave some insight into how the dressing room would have reacted.

He said: “In depends on the experience of the goalkeeper.

“If it's David, one of your experienced keepers, you leave him alone. Let him get on with it. He'll know how to recover and get over it.

"With Henderson might be a little bit different. Walk over say 'don't worry about it we'll go again next time'.

"Maybe give him a bit of encouragement because he will be down.

"I think he'll be gutted. Look it's not a glaring mistake. It's a mistake. Not such an obvious one.

"For goalkeepers especially concentration is important for 90 minutes. You can't just blame that for the draw. United were second best all night.

"AC Milan were really good, they scored a really good goal that was disallowed.

"They fully deserved the victory. They got away with one tonight. I still think they're lucky."
