Paul Scholes names Manchester United's biggest Europa League threat

Manchester United great Paul Scholes backed his former club to win the Europa League and named the only team who he thinks pose a big threat.

United don't need to win the Europa League to guarantee Champions League qualification for next term but are aiming to end a three-year silverware drought, having not won a trophy since winning the same competition in 2017.

United moved into the quarter-finals on Wednesday after recording a 7-1 aggregate win over LASK.

The likes of Bayer Leverkusen, Sevilla and Shakhtar Donetsk are still in the Europa League but Scholes feels that Inter Milan provide the biggest threat to United's hopes of winning the trophy.

Vote for your United player of the season here:

"Inter are the only other team who could cause United problems," Scholes told BT Sport before United's 2-1 win over LASK. "No I don't (think Wolves have a chance). They are a good team Wolves. They have a good manager and good players, I just think United would beat Wolves nine times out of ten. They are capable but I just don't think they I quite good enough to win the competition.

"I think United are too good for all of them. Inter are the main danger."
