Paul Scholes names four Man Utd players Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should sell

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes says the club should do everything to keep Paul Pogba this summer, but shouldn't worry about some of their other players leaving.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is gearing up for a busy summer as he prepares for his first transfer window since being named as United's permanent manager.

Although the Premier League giants are expected to bring in a number of new faces, several players are set to leave Old Trafford in the coming months.

During an appearance on BT Sport, Scholes, who made 718 appearances for the club, was presented with a list of United players in the final year of their current deals.

As things stand, Juan Mata, Ander Herrera, Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian are all out of contract this summer - although some reports suggest that Darmian has had his one-year extension triggered.

When asked which of the quartet United should fight to keep, he replied: "None of them."

Instead, Scholes said that keeping Pogba should be a priority for his former club.

The midfielder is another player to be heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford when the transfer window opens, with reports in Spain suggesting that Real Madrid are interested in bringing the 26-year-old to the Bernabeu.

The France international, who scored twice in Saturday's 2-1 win over West Ham , has added to speculation by admitting that playing for the Spanish giants would be a "dream" , while Real boss Zinedine Zidane said he is a fan of his compatriot.

Scholes explained: "I think there was a time going back a few years, when if United lost a player, no matter how big a player it was. Whether it was David Beckham, Roy Keane, Cristiano [Ronaldo] at times. It didn't matter, it really didn't matter.

"But at this point now, if you're losing Paul Pogba. He gets some stick for his inconsistency, we know that, but he's still scored 15 goals this season.

"If you sell Pogba now, you're selling your best player," he concluded.

One player who looks increasingly likely to leave Old Trafford is Herrera, with reports that the Spaniard is closing-in on a move to French side Paris Saint-German.

However, Scholes doesn't believe his departure would be a big loss for the club, adding: "Ander Herrera, I wouldn't worry."
