Paul Scholes makes Jadon Sancho transfer prediction as Man Utd refuse to give up on deal

Paul Scholes reckons Manchester United will seal a deal for Jadon Sancho - despite Borussia Dortmund chief Michael Zorc insisting the England winger is going nowhere.

Sancho is United's prime summer target as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer bids to strengthen his squad ahead of the new Premier League season.

The German champions are holding out for a fee in excess of £100million, with United believing £80million is more realistic.

Sancho has travelled with Dortmund for pre-season, with Zorc saying: "We plan on having Jadon Sancho in our team this season, the decision is final.

“I think that answers all our questions.

"Last summer, we adjusted Jadon's salary to match the development of his performances, so in that context, we had already extended his contract until 2023 back then."

But Scholes, speaking on BT Sport ahead of United's game against FC Copenhagen in the Europa League quarter-finals, still expects his old club to strike a deal.

He said: "They're just after a little bit more money out of it, aren't they? He's a great player. But £108million is a lot of money.

"I don't know [if he's worth it]. He looks a brilliant player and I think he would improve any team in world football with his assists and his goals.

"The only thing I would say about United is they were desperate for Haaland as well and they didn't quite go that extra mile.

"Will they do that for Sancho? I think they will. If Ole desperately, desperately wants him, I think they'll get him."
