Paul Scholes has suggested Manchester United are over-reliant on Bruno Fernandes.
Speaking after United's hard-fought 1-0 victory over West Brom on Saturday night, which was clinched by a second-half Fernandes penalty, the former Old Trafford favourite highlighted a problem for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.
He suggested United need other players to bring creativity, if United are to put away teams like West Brom at Old Trafford.
"It was an ugly win. Hopefully, that will give them a bit of confidence," Scholes said on BT Sport.
"You do wonder where Man United would be without Fernandes. Before Bruno came in, United couldn’t create a chance."
Scholes suggested that Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are not getting enough service from the rest of the United midfield.
United have struggled for goals at home this term, with only Donny van de Beek scoring from open play since the new season began.
"I feel a bit sorry for the forwards as they’re having to make their own chances," Scholes added.
“They’ve got great skill and they’re capable of doing it, get the ball to Fernandes, he’s a great passer of the ball, Martial can go past people and Rashford has great pace, but the two central midfield players, especially at Old Trafford, they’ve got to contribute more to the attacking side.”
