Paul Scholes hails Bruno Fernandes and agrees with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's simple assessment

Paul Scholes has praised the impact of Bruno Fernandes who was again on the score sheet at Leicester.

The Portuguese star has not yet been a Manchester United player for a year, but is already a leading light.

He joined from Sporting Lisbon last January and has helped galvanise Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.

Fernandes has been credited with driving standards at Old Trafford with his attacking flair crucial to them winning games.

“Always, always is,” Solskjaer said when asked about the 26-year-old's constant involvement in the final third. “Good goal, good pass by Edinson, good timing."

Fernandes' 78th minute strike was his 14th goal of the season and his 26th since joining the club.

Scholes, who has once pivotal to the United attack, could not speak highly enough of the Portuguese star.

The Red Devils' numbers before and after Fernandes' arrival could not be more contrasting.

And the Salford City co-owner highlighted how he has turned possession into chances since joining.

“It’s ridiculous really, how well he’s doing," said Scholes.

“We knew he’d make a big difference to this team when he came in and he’s been sensational.

“As I said before he came, United really struggled to create a chance. They kept possession well but couldn’t create a chance, couldn’t score a goal. He’s totally transformed the team.”

United's draw at Leicester meant the missed the chance to close the gap on Liverpool to two points.

It also bought to an end a sequence of ten away league wins on the trot.

Solskjaer's outfit were targeting an 11th consecutive win on the road which would've equalled a Premier League record.

United will now have successive home games against Midlands pair Wolves and Aston Villa.
