Paul Scholes disagrees with Thomas Tuchel's take on Chelsea vs Man Utd

Paul Scholes has disagreed with Thomas Tuchel's assessment of Chelsea's 0-0 draw against Manchester United, suggesting the Blues boss "was watching a different game'.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Tuchel said: "It was a high quality game between two very strong teams. We suffered in some minutes in the first half.

"It was hard for us because of the quality, we couldn't close the six but overall it was an even game. In the second half I felt us very strong, very aggressive, many good recoveries, good chances.

"I thought we were closer to winning it, but there was a lot of quality on the pitch. It can happen anything any minute. The result is the result.

"Performance-wise I’m very satisfied. We defended very very high, very brave in the last line and I’m very happy with that."

However, former United midfielder Scholes did not agree with Tuchel's claim that the game was "high quality", telling Premier League productions: "I actually think Tuchel was watching a different game on his iPad when he said it was a game full of high quality.

"I didn't see one bit of quality throughout the game. The number of times players got in good positions but failed with easy passes. Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes…

"There was quality on the pitch, don't get me wrong, but did any of them show it? I don't think they did."

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, meanwhile, was happy with his side's defensive display but admitted they need to start scoring more goals.

"We’re not scoring enough goals, that’s for sure," he said. "We came away and it’s another good clean sheet but the next step for this team is to win these games and score a goal.

"We needed to get three points and, of course, we should have had a penalty, which probably I would back Bruno [Fernandes] every day of the week.

"We didn’t have the right weight of pass, good quality at the end in the four or five good breakaways we had in the second half."
