Paul Scholes claims 'Liverpool are worrying' about Man United

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes believes 'Liverpool will be worried’ about his old club following their latest result.

United claimed a 3-0 win over Aston Villa on Thursday night to close the gap on the top four and are now 34 points adrift of the Reds.

Liverpool have already secured the Premier League title, having amassed a 23-point lead over second placed Manchester City with four league fixtures left to play.

Following the Red Devils’ win over Villa, Scholes took to Instagram to shares his views about the result, and claimed that both Liverpool and Man City will be ‘worried’ about his old club.

The victory at Villa Park extended United’s unbeaten run to 17 matches, as they bid to climb into the Champions League qualification spots.

“Is it time for a couple of teams to start worrying about this team?” said Scholes. “I have a hunch they might be already."

Scholes also posted after Bruno Fernandes scored from the penalty spot, despite the Portuguese international appearing to foul Villa defender Ezri Konsa himself in the build-up to the spot kick.

“Well then,” wrote Scholes.

Liverpool qualified for next season’s Champions League back in February, while United are still playing catch-up on the sides above them in the table.
