Paul Scholes blasts Manchester United star Paul Pogba's performance in Liverpool disaster

Paul Scholes has ridiculed Paul Pogba for his part in Manchester United's 5-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.

United's have now gone four games without a victory in the Premier League, but that's only half the story as they were torn to shreds by their fierce rivals at Old Trafford.

Naby Keita put the visitors ahead after just five minutes and things didn't get any better from there, as a Diogo Jota tap-in and a double from Mohamed Salah meant United went in at the break four goals down.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer introduced Pogba at the break to try and turn things around but, if anything, he only made things worse.

After just four minutes on the pitch, the Frenchman lost the ball in the middle of the park which allowed Jordan Henderson to play an excellent pass to Salah to grab his hat-trick.

Then his disastrous cameo came to an end after a mere 15 minutes as he made an awful studs-up challenge on the ankle of Keita, which saw the midfielder stretchered off the field.

Scholes, who predicted a result of this kind after the first-half display against Atalanta on Wednesday, was not impressed with the club or Pogba.

"To say a disappointing day would be a complete understatement," Scholes said to the Premier League.

"Liverpool had too much quality. I don't think it was a lack of effort from United; I think tactically they were set up in a way where this could happen, and unfortunately it did.

"Paul Pogba coming on, giving a goal away and then getting sent off for a ridiculous tackle sums up United's day."
