Speaker Paul Ryan joined other senior Wisconsin Republicans who are pushing to put their state into play for the presidential election.
Ryan on Thursday was part of a fundraiser for the Wisconsin delegation that included Gov. Scott Walker and former Gov. Tommy Thompson, sources told Fox News.
The state has not voted for a Republican president since 1984, but a recent poll showed the race tightening there.
Ryan is also helping other GOP congressional hopefuls outside of the state try to replicate the success he had in his overwhelming primary victory.
Ryan is a powerhouse fundraiser with deep policy and political knowledge, putting him in high demand by congressional candidates.
