Paul Rudd drinks pints and takes selfies in Wrexham pub ahead of crucial football match

Paul Rudd was drinking pints in a pub in Wrexham and posing for photos with fans ahead of a crucial football match.

The Marvel actor was photographed enjoying his trip to the Welsh town as he supported pal Ryan Reynolds, joining in on chants with fellow fans in the pub. Paul, 54, was in the Turf pub in north Wales ahead of Wrexham FC's crunch match against Boreham Wood.

Wrexham FC has attracted worldwide attention following Deadpool star Reynolds and Rob McElhenney buying the club, and creating their own Disney+ docuseries on the journey.

Football fans were delighted to see the Hollywood A-lister in attendance at the pub, as one football fan told PA news agency he was "super nice". Paul Novielli, a fan from Kentucky on his fourth trip to Wrexham, took a selfie with Rudd while Sandy, a fan from Canada, gushed over the “super nice” actor.

“(I) just said hi, can you take a picture he said yea… I asked if he’s having a good time and he said ‘amazing’,” he told PA.

Mr Novielli, who runs a podcast called Up The Town dedicated to Wrexham AFC, said Rudd joined in with songs including Super Paul Mullin and Allez Allez Allez at the pub as he shared drinks with fans.

“He sat with (the owner) Wayne (Jones) from the Turf for a bit and did some sing songs,” Mr Novielle added. “(He) engaged with a lot of people, took pictures – he was super nice.”

WalesOnline writer Tom Coleman posted a video of Rudd taking pictures with fans as he shared a beer outside, tweeting: "Here comes the Hollywood glamour. Actor Paul Rudd has just arrived."

Another Wrexham fan tweeted: "Normal day in Wrexham please..." as he took a selfie with Rudd who was enjoying another beer with the Red Dragons faithful inside.

Rudd is just the latest Hollywood star to show their support for the Red Dragons, with fellow A-listers Will Ferrell and Hugh Jackman also known as fans of the club. Reynold's wife Blake Lively has also been spotted attending games in Wales alongside her husband.
