Paul Rowley named new Salford Red Devils head coach

Paul Rowley has been named the new head coach of Salford Red Devils.

Rowley, who has previously coached with Leigh Centurions and Toronto Wolfpack, takes over from Richard Marshall and will be joined by Leigh Centurions' interim coach Kurt Haggerty, who takes on a role as assistant. Danny Orr will also remain at the club.

The Red Devils finished 11th last season which saw them move on Marshall after 12 months in charge.

A former player for the likes of Huddersfield and Halifax, Rowley took to coaching with Leigh and oversaw a huge change in fortunes for the club, guiding them to the top of the competition before his resignation in early 2016.

He was Toronto Wolfpack's first ever head coach, guiding them to promotion in their first year. In his second year, they reached the Million Pound Game before losing to London Broncos. He subsequently departed before taking on an advisory role with the Red Devils in 2019.
