Paul Routledge: I’d sooner have Jezza in No.10 than greedy, lying, cheating, untrustworthy toff Johnson

THIS is my 15th general election as a voter, but the first time I’ve had a postal ballot.

I used it yesterday to put my cross in favour of the Labour Party candidate for Skipton and Ripon, Brian McDaid.

He’s a good lad, represents employees in a union for building society staff.

He doesn’t stand much chance of winning in a constituency that has elected a Tory since serfdom was abolished.

Indeed, it still exists in some people’s heads round 'ere. If that’s alright with you, milord.

Boris Johnson is a lazy Tory who despises working-class men and single mothers (PA)

I voted for the party that best offers a way out of the country’s troubles, and a better deal for working people, families and pensioners. And without question that is Labour.

Some may point out that I haven’t exactly been the greatest fan of Jeremy Corbyn , and have written some disobliging things about him.

But I’d sooner have Jezza in Downing Street than greedy, lying, cheating, rich-fawning, untrustworthy toff Alexander de Pfeffel Johnson .

A lazy Tory who despises working-class men and single mothers, and seeks to gain squalid advantage from the London Bridge atrocity.

A sleazy politician who thinks he can buy the election with cash from billionaire pals like filthy rich theatre producer John Gore.

Gore and his fellow Rich Listers have given the Tories £130million since 2010, while 20 million British workers now suffer money worries.

Teachers report kids coming to school hungry, having “not eaten for some days”.

This is the pitiless backdrop to the poll that lying Johnson said he didn’t want.

In fact, he slavered after it, confident of raking in campaign cash of US presidential proportions.

He isn’t a “One Nation” Tory. He’s fighting a Two Nations poll: the Rich versus The Rest of Us.

No doubt one day impressario Gore will seek to make millions from a Boris musical. “The Lying King”, perhaps, or “Fatman of the Opera”.
