Paul Robinson believes Ben White will leave Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer, amid transfer links with Leeds United last year.
The 23-year-old spent the 2019/20 season on loan at Elland Road and excelled in the Whites ' Championship-winning campaign.
White was a very popular figure at the Yorkshire club, and Marcelo Bielsa was keen on keeping him at the club.
However, Brighton took their defender back after a tremendous showing for Leeds and are now reaping the rewards.
White has impressed in the Premier League this term and has been linked with a move to the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United.
Former Leeds goalkeeper Robinson thinks it's inevitable that the ex-Whites star will end up with one of the top clubs next season.
Speaking on Amazon Prime Video before Leeds kicked off against Brighton, Robinson said: “I’m very, very surprised that other suitors didn’t come in for him.
"I expect they will do so at the end of this season. Disappointing for Leeds, I’d love to be able say Leeds would have been able to keep him, but regardless of Brighton’s plight this season, he’ll be moving on.”
Bielsa admitted in February that his side were interested in buying White but were eventually priced out of the move.
“The example is Leeds wanted to buy Ben White for £30m and we weren’t able to," the Argentine coach said.
When the move did fall through, White was supposedly left "disappointed", as per his agent Alex Levack.
"Of course [he was disappointed]," Levack admitted.
"He enjoyed his time at Leeds incredibly. They looked after him so well, the fans were fantastic to him.
"But when a football club don't want to sell it's very difficult."
According to recent reports, German club Borussia Dortmund have entered the race to sign White this summer, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Man United also being credited with an interest in the ball-playing centre-back.
