Paul Potts has aimed a dig at about their time working together in a Bristol Tesco supermarket.
The opera singer, 48, made the cheeky jibe about the weatherman, 38, after talking on Good Morning Britain about appearing on Britain's Got Talent: The Champions.
Beresford grew up in Eastville, while Potts is from Kingswood, the Mirror reports.
Speaking to hosts Richard Bacon and Charlotte Hawkins, Potts was asked what it was like working with Beresford back in Bristol many years ago.

Bacon said: "Because you worked together right? In the wines and spirits aisle."
Beresford, who had been preparing his weather report, joked: "In the wine and spirits aisle, I was obviously the harder worker."
Hawkins posed the question to Paul, saying: "What was he like?"
Potts quipped: "He works harder as a weatherman than he did in the superstore."
Before the singer found fame on the first series of Britain's Got Talent in 2007, Paul was facing bankruptcy
Opening up about his nerves ahead of appearing on the BGT stage, Paul said: "Nerve-wracking, that's never changed.
"You try and find a way of managing that but the nerves never really go away.
"For me, it was a way of paying back Britain's Got Talent for the opportunities that it has given me.
"Also to represent Britain's Got Talent because I am very proud of my association with the programme and always will be."
