Eric Bailly has returned to Manchester United training and was welcomed back to Carrington by Paul Pogba.
United got their Premier League season off to the perfect start on Saturday as they destroyed rivals Leeds United in a 5-1 mauling, with Pogba picking up four assists in the process.
The performance was made even more impressive as United were without a number of stars either through injury, in the case of Marcus Rashford, due to Covid-19 with Jesse Lingard and Dean Henderson and because of late returns to England following the summer break, like Edinson Cavani.
Defender Bailly and his international teammate Amad were both also unavailable for the match as they had yet to return to the club after representing the Ivory Coast in this summer's Olympic games.
The pair played key roles in the country's run to the quarter-finals in Tokyo, where they were eliminated by eventual runners-up Spain 5-2 after extra-time.
Bailly scored the opener in the game but then made two costly errors that twice allowed Spain to draw level and go on to win the match.
That game was played on July 31 and after enjoying some time to recuperate and a period of isolation, Bailly is now back at United.
Close friend Pogba welcome Bailly back to Carrington and filmed him getting out of his car as both players laughed as they were reunited, with the midfielder uploading the video to his Instagram story.
It's not yet clear if Amad is also back in training, with the winger expected to leave the club on loan for the season in order to gain some valuable first-team experience.
Bailly's return is a boost to United's defensive options following Axel Tuanzebe's loan move to Aston Villa, but the 27-year-old has a fight on his hands to get into the starting XI following the confirmation of Raphael Varane's arrival from Real Madrid.
