Paul Pogba has been reminded by his teammate Andreas Pereira he is needed at Manchester United as a role model for the rest of the players.
Doubts remain over Pogba's future after the World Cup winner said in June it is 'maybe time for a new challenge' and his agent Mino Raiola last week revealed he is 'in the process' of working on a transfer for Pogba.
The club are confident of keeping the midfielder at the club and it is believed their £150million valuation could deter potential suitors, with Juventus and Real Madrid both interested.
Pereira has reminded the France international of the role he has to play with the younger members of the squad.
"We have a great team spirit, everyone gets along very well. We have a lot of young players and I think it is good. We have a lot of energy and people who want to work, to get better every day," Pereira told ManUtd.com.
“We also have some experienced players like Ashley Young, Nemanja, Paul as well, so it is very important we have all of the boys so they can show us, lead by example and we can follow them.”
Two of the youngest members of Solskjaer's squad are new signings Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Pereira spoke about how the pair had been settling in at the club.
“They are settling in really quickly, [and] we are helping them,” Pereira said. “They have been in England already and that makes it a lot easier of course. They are doing well, [and] hopefully they can pick it up very quickly and show us what they have got.”
