Paul Pogba sends message to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after Manchester United sacking

Paul Pogba has thanked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on social media after the Manchester United manager was sacked on Sunday morning.

United and Solskjaer parted ways following Saturday's humiliating 4-1 defeat to Watford, a fourth defeat in five Premier League games.

United do not have a succession plan in place so Michael Carrick will be promoted in a caretaker manager role for the foreseeable, starting with a crucial Champions League trip at Villarreal, as the club look for an interim appointment for the rest of the season.

Taking to social media platform Instagram, Pogba posted a photo of the pair from earlier this season along with a touching message.

"All the best, boss!" Pogba wrote. "Thanks for all the good moments."

Pogba is currently sidelined with a thigh injury sustained on international duty with France and won't appear for United until January at the earliest.

Pogba helped United finish second in the Premier League last season and played a pivitol role in the club reaching the Europa League final, a game they lost on penalties to Villarreal.

The Frenchman's contract expires in the summer and he is free to talk to teams outside of England from January 1 unless a new deal is agreed before then.
