Paul Pogba sends message about Manchester United form after Liverpool loss

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has admitted he and his team-mates cannot "feel sorry" for themselves following Sunday's 5-0 hammering at the hands of Liverpool at Old Trafford.

United's winless run in the Premier League was extended to four matches as a result of the Liverpool hammering, with a Mo Salah hat-trick and strikes from Naby Keita and Diogo Jota putting a toothless United side to the sword.

Already five goals down and preparing to face the wave of criticism that was to come, United's woes were compounded further when Pogba — who stepped off the bench at half time to replace Mason Greenwood — was sent-off for a challenge on Liverpool midfielder Keita, who was forced off as a result of the tackle.

The result has significantly increased the pressure on United chief Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, so much so that the number of supporters calling for him to be sacked has increased.

But regardless of what happens in the dugout, United's players need to take a share of the blame and come back stronger than ever, a verdict shared by Pogba, who now faces a three-match ban.

Taking to his Instagram page, the France international, who is out-of-contract at Old Trafford in less than a year's time, said: "No time to feel sorry for ourselves... Wake up, step up and make the next days better!"

Following Sunday's debacle, United now have a clear week without a fixture to prepare for Saturday's trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to lock horns with Nuno Espirito Santo's Spurs.

Following their trip to north London, United then travel to Italy to face Atalanta in the Champions League for the second time in a fortnight, before welcoming cross-city rivals Manchester City to Old Trafford on November 6.
