Paul Pogba says Antonio Rudiger 'nibbled' on him during France's Euro 2020 victory over Germany

Paul Pogba has accused Antonio Rudiger of 'nibbling' on him during a Euro 2020 clash on Tuesday.

World Cup winners France faced off against Germany in a fiery group-stage match, which was decided by a Mats Hummels own goal.

Kylian Mbappe had two strikes ruled out for offside, but after the match there was a lot of discussion around an incident involving Pogba and Rudiger that came towards the end of the first-half.

Pictures showed Chelsea defender Rudiger moved his mouth very close to Pogba's back before reaching his arms around to the midfielder's chest.

The France man then appeared to suggest to the referee that Rudiger had bitten him, bringing back memories of the two infamous biting incidents involving former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.

The Manchester United midfielder has now said he was 'nibbled' after the match but made it clear he does not want the Germany defender to face any retrospective punishments.

Pogba said: "I'm not crying for cards, yellow, red cards because of such actions.

"He nibbled, I think, a little bit on me. But we have known each other for a long time.

"I told the referee and he takes decisions and he took a decision. It's over. It was a great match for us... and I didn't want him to be suspended because of such a situation.

"It was towards the end of the match. We hugged each other and that's it."
