Paul Pogba's stunning France strike nominated for Uefa Goal of the Season

Paul Pogba has been nominated for Uefa's Goal of the Season award for his stunning strike for France at Euro 2020.

The Manchester United midfielder won't recall too kindly France's shocking last-16 exit to Switzerland via penalty shootout following their dramatic 3-3 draw.

However, the 29-year-old has been rewarded for his magic moment from the game, as his incredible finish put France 3-1 up with 15 minutes left to play.

A Karim Benzema double had put France up 2-1 after Haris Seferovic headed Switzerland ahead early into the first-half. With 15 minutes left on the clock, Benzema's strike was rebounded outside of the box and into the path of Pogba.

The midfielder took one touch of the ball before curling the ball home into the top corner from 30 yards out, demonstrating his class.

Despite the disappointing ending to the game for Pogba and France, it was easily one of the goals of the tournament.

He faces a lot of competition, however, with nine other goals making the shortlist for the award, including another two from Euro 2020.

Lorenzo Insigne goal for Italy against Belgium makes the list, while Patrick Schick's goal from the halfway line against Scotland is also included having won the award for goal of the tournament.

The winner will be decided by public vote on Uefa's official website.
