The potential transfer of Paul Pogba has taken a twist after his agent Mino Raiola was hit with a suspension.
Pogba’s representative has been handed a three-month ban by the Italian FA, making it difficult for the Manchester United star to return to Serie A in the summer window, reports the MEN .
The ruling will prevent Raiola from brokering deals for his clients – which also include Pogba’s Old Trafford team-mate Sergio Romero – to and from clubs in Italy until August 9.
It is not clear what is behind the suspension but a statement by the FIGC said: "The Sports Procurators Commission, any other exception, deduction and defence rejected, condemns Mr Carmine (Mino) Raiola and Mr Vincenzo Raiola, on his own behalf and as legal representatives of the companies they represent to sanction of the suspension from the exercise of the activity of sports attorney to the extent, respectively: with regard to Mr. Carmine Raiola, of 3 months, with regard to Mr. Vincenzo Raiola, of 2 months."
The ban is only to be enforced in Italy which means Pogba could still move to clubs such as Real Madrid .
The France midfielder has been linked heavily with a transfer to the La Liga giants.
In March Pogba described Madrid as "a dream club for every player" and Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane responded by suggesting Pogba could move to the Bernabeu when his "adventure" in the English Premier League ends.
Pogba's contract at United expires in the summer of 2021 although the club have the option to extend it by a further year.
