Paul Pogba's former mentor makes Manchester United transfer claim

A former mentor of Paul Pogba believes an exit from Manchester United is inevitable, adding that he believes the France international could push to engineer a move.

The former Juventus star has made a solid start to the new season with two assists in three matches, although he missed a penalty in the recent draw with Wolves.

Real Madrid have flirted with the midfielder all summer but have been unable to secure a move, with United showing no wish to sell, but it is claimed their hand may be forced one day.

Franck Sale, head of recruitment at Le Harve, the club where Pogba first earned his break, feels that the midfielder is growing in unrest and will inevitably seal an exit away at some point.

"If Paul has a coach with a strong personality around him, in time there will be a clash somewhere," he told Optus Sport.

"When he left for Juventus a few years ago, with Alex Ferguson that was very complicated too. Paul didn't concede because he has such a strong character. So when he says, 'I'm leaving', he's leaving.

"If tomorrow he goes to a big club like a Real Madrid, he'll still have his conflicts, even with Zizou [Zidane].

"Paul is a man who needs to be challenged. I think he is becoming too comfortable at United. It's not as demanding for him as it was a few years ago.

"I think he is ready for a new challenge, that's obvious. I can see him leaving for another big club searching for this new challenge."
