Paul Pogba reveals Manchester United dressing room mood after Man City defeat

Paul Pogba has said the Manchester United squad are 'disappointed and annoyed' after they were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by fierce rivals Man City.

Goals from John Stones and Fernandinho secured a 2-0 victory for Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday night as United missed out on a Wembley final against Tottenham Hotspur.

Despite the score United did have chances to win the game themselves but they ultimately paid the price for a lack of killer instinct upfront.

The defeat marked the fourth time Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have tasted semi-final defeat in the past year and Pogba admits the dressing room mood was low at full-time.

“Of course it is disappointing because it is not the first one against City at home," Pogba told MUTV.

“We are disappointed with the result, obviously, with the two goals from set-pieces.

“It can go both ways but we lost today. It is not the first one, like I said.

“It is very annoying to lose because there is a trophy behind all of this. We have to do better, we have to do better for sure.”

He added: “It is details. Details make the difference all of the time and now when it is big games like this, it is details and at set-pieces we lost.

“We have to learn and we have to learn, because it is not the first time.

“We have to learn, we have to get through this because, after this, there are big games coming up after tonight and tomorrow we will go again.”
