Paul Pogba returns as Manchester United fans demand nine changes to line-up vs Liverpool

Even the London bus anecdote would fall short of describing the gruelling run of fixtures Manchester United have had to contend with.

It's only seven days ago that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his side booked their place in the Europa League final at the expense of Italian opponents Roma.

Since that second-leg clash, United have already played two more games - with a third on the horizon tonight.

A comeback victory over Aston Villa was followed by a 2-1 defeat by Leicester City, although the manager was forced into making 10 changes at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer will shuffle his pack once again tonight as they return to the same venue, where he continues to be without Harry Maguire (ankle) and Anthony Martial (knee) through injury.

Here is how Manchester Evening News readers think United should line-up against Liverpool;

Goalkeeper - Dean Henderson

Dean Henderson has emerged as the club's number one in the second half of this campaign - as long-serving David de Gea continues to keep hold of the gloves in Europe. He was trusted between the posts against Leicester, as well, but a return for Henderson is being predicted tonight.

Defenders - Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly, Luke Shaw

United are once again without the services of Maguire through injury - although he does have a chance of leading out his troops against Villarreal in the Europa League showpiece on May 26.

Eric Bailly was summoned from the bench in his place against Villa and started alongside Axel Tuanzebe when they took on Leicester around 48 hours later.

It's another quick turnaround for United tonight, too, but fans are calling for the Ivorian to start.

Flanked by regular full-backs Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw, a return for Victor Lindelof should be in the offing as he takes on added responsibility in the absence of Maguire.

Midfielders - Fred, Bruno Fernandes, Scott McTominay

Sweeping changes are expected across the board, once again, when Liverpool come calling - no more so than in the engine room.

Having deployed Nemanja Matic, Donny van de Beek and Juan Mata last time out, there is every chance of United reverting to a more familiar trio at the same venue.

Indeed, supporters are, of course, calling for Bruno Fernandes to lead their change.

Fred and Scott McTominay are being backed to provide cover in defensive midfield, as Liverpool prepare to arrive with all guns blazing in a bid to preserve their slim top-four hopes.

Forwards - Mason Greenwood, Edinson Cavani, Paul Pogba

Having started the last three games, there is one school of thought to hand Mason Greenwood a rest - especially with a European final on the horizon.

The 19-year-old was the sole survivor as Solskjaer made 10 changes ahead of kick-off against Leicester.

Such is his run of form, though - with eight goals coming in his last 11 appearances across all competitions - fans are eager for him to take it to their bitter rivals.

Elsewhere in attacking quarters, returns for Edinson Cavani and Paul Pogba are being tipped, which leaves no place in the line-up for Marcus Rashford on this occasion.

IN: Henderson, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Shaw, Fred, McTominay, Fernandes, Pogba, Cavani.

OUT: De Gea, Williams, Tuanzebe, Telles, Matic, Van de Beek, Mata, Amad, Elanga.
