Paul Pogba 'regrets' Man Utd transfer decision as European deadline looms

Paul Pogba is reportedly ruing his decision not to force his way out of Manchester United .

Pogba admitted at the start of the summer that he felt the time was right to seek a new challenge away from Old Trafford.

Real Madrid and former club Juventus have kept an interest in Pogba all summer but have not made a formal offer to United.

United were insistent Pogba would not be sold for under £180m and although there are a few days remaining in the transfer window, the Frenchman now looks set to remain at Old Trafford.

But AS reports Pogba is now regretting not forcing a move to Real this summer.

Zinedine Zidane is a big fan of the midfielder and made no secret of his wish to take him to the Bernabeu.

But it is suggested he expected Pogba to push for the move and his failure to do so has all but ended Real's hopes of signing him.

Zidane has reportedly not given up hope of one final push from the Spanish giants, although it appears highly unlikely United will do business.

United have made it clear they would not entertain an offer for the midfielder once the Premier League deadline had passed as they would not be able to sign a replacement.

Real would have to let go of James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale to free up transfer funds and wages to sign Pogba and finding buyers for the players at this stage of the window would appear tricky.
