Paul Pogba provides fresh Manchester United fitness update on Instagram ahead of Chelsea clash

Chelsea face Manchester United at Stamford Bridge next Monday.

Both sides have had fitness issues leading up to the game, but the winter break has helped to alleviate some of the problems, with the pause in the fixture list allowing some players to get closer to a return.

United have two injury worries in midfield, with Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay both closing in on returns from long injuries.

McTominay has joined up with the United squad on their warm-weather training trip in Spain along with Alex Tuanzebe, who is hoping to make a return of his own.

However, Pogba looks a little further away from action, and is set to miss the clash against Chelsea.

The 26-year-old has an ankle injury that had troubled him for much of the season. He briefly made a comeback to United's side in fixtures against Watford and Newcastle around Christmas time, but it was then revealed that he would need surgery to properly eradicate the problem.

Pogba has made just eight appearances for United in all competitions this season, but will be hoping to play a big part in the second half of the season as his side push for a Champions League position.

The French star is currently in Dubai at the Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex, where Arsenal are currently undergoing their warm-weather training.

The midfielder posted a photo of himself in training on his Instagram page alongside a hashtag that translates to: "We'll be the bad guys".

Pogba does not have an official return date set by the club, but there are four fixtures remaining this month in which he can feature, before games against Everton and Derby to begin March.

Following that are huge clashes against rivals Manchester City and fourth-place hopefuls Tottenham, and United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping to have him back available for as many matches as possible this season.
