Paul Pogba has lost his battle to be fit enough for the Manchester derby, with the Manchester United star out of today's Etihad clash against Man City.
The Frenchman didn’t train with the rest of United’s squad on Friday, though the Red Devils had hoped that Pogba would prove his fitness in final preparations on Saturday.
He underwent a private session indoors to nurse a minor issue, but Mourinho appears to have decided that starting Pogba would be a risk against Pep Guardiola's champions.
Meanwhile, Romelu Lukaku makes the bench after Mourinho gave the striker Saturday's session to convince him he’s recovered sufficiently from a hamstring injury that ruled the Belgian out of the games against Bournemouth and Juventus.

The forward was replaced by Marcus Rashford in the starting line-up, with Marouane Fellaini coming in for Pogba after impressing off the bench in the midweek comeback win at Juventus.
Alexis Sanchez trained on Friday after suffering a dead leg against Juve, but is only fit enough for the bench.
Sergio Aguero replaced Gabriel Jesus despite the Brazilian's hat-trick against Shakhtar Donetsk, while Pep Guardiola preferred Riyad Mahrez to Leroy Sane.
